What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Coordinator position at JMS Metals?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in processing multi-state bi-weekly payroll using ADP and payroll taxes for all states bi-weekly, quarterly and annually. Process reports accordingly.
- Process new hire information in ADP system in addition to updates (terminations, status changes, etc.)
- Process background checks and additional pre-employment screening activities
- Conduct New Hire Orientation including the education of benefits, company policies, and procedures
- Guide employees to complete electronic forms related to address, status, and benefit changes, etc using ADP system.
- Assists with the accounting and recording of payroll, benefits (e.g., health, dental, vision, disability, life, retirement, health savings accounts), and other HR costs.
- Identifies and recommends updates to software, systems, and procedures.
- Assists with developing, coordinating, and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow.
- Assists with audit preparations by providing records and documentation.
- Maintains overall awareness and remains current on regulatory changes and employment laws
- Maintains files on above records and ensures all filing is completed in a timely manner
- Works closely and collaboratively on requests by Finance and other departments
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in Payroll and HR
- 2 years experience with HR/payroll systems experience – ADP preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong MS Office skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Positive attitude; Excellent people skills.
- Ability to multi task and coordinate projects
