Our client in Worthington, OH is actively seeking a skilled Buyer to join their team.
This is an onsite/ full-time/direct-hire position
Salary based on experience: $45k-$60k
Position Overview: The Buyer reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and is directly responsible for
purchasing our products. This broadly entails working closely with the sales team to understand product demand, ensuring inventory levels are sufficient, and seeking the best pricing and terms available by developing and nurturing supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Developing strong relationships and communication channels with key vendors
- Tracking quantities of products on order, in stock, allocated to current orders, and on backorder · Develop strong relationships and close lines of communication with the sales team and warehouse team to understand customer demand trends, and warehouse stocking capacities, and keep colleagues updated on inventory availability
- Preventing stock-outs by maintaining sufficient inventory levels
- Learning the NetSuite ERP system, including the creation of purchase orders and items
- Participating in yearly assessment of supplier performance evaluation and corrective action
