What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sourcing Specialist position at JOA Human Resources?

JOB PURPOSE: Coordinate and lead the procurement strategy for Integrated Systems. The Sourcing Specialist will have an in-depth knowledge of market conditions, supplier sourcing strategies, risk, and performance management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Introduce new technologies and suppliers to Joa via strategic sourcing activities with an emphasis on custom engineered systems. Qualify redundant suppliers. Assists Engineering in creating and maintaining standard configurations of Joa systems. Professional familiarity with Integrated Systems for Joa machines (i.e., Adhesive Systems, Ultrasonics, Machine Equipment Platforms (MEP), Process Air, and web guiding). Assists Supply Chain Manager in managing and mitigating risk in Joa Procurement Supply Chain for Integrated Systems.    Assist Supply Chain Manager in developing and maintaining global sourcing for Integrated Systems    Manage, update, and maintain cost for Integrated Systems.   Responsible for cost, delivery, quality, and performance of Integrated Systems Assist Supply Chain Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining a commodity strategy that supports company’s strategic plan. Evaluate and understand conditions to maintain, control, and reduce costs. Evaluate, manage, and report out on vendor(s) performance via utilization of scorecards. Provide input to corporate strategic decision maker. Responsible for managing and owning performance of systems supply base.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A   REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Requires education generally equivalent to an Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; or equivalent training and experience preferred. At least five years of experience in a manufacturing organization with taking on progressively more complex roles or equivalent years of experience preferred. Previous experience in a global organization; global platform management preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with engineering and manufacturing staff along with supplier and customer personnel in a manner to effectively further operation objectives. Proven leadership abilities to inspire and coach peers and other internal customers to accomplish strategic and tactical goals and related tasks. Requires strong negotiation skills in dealings with vendors. Must be able to collaborate with others (including in person) to proactively develop solutions. Experience working with Engineers and Product Development preferred.     ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Microsoft Office, Autovault, Solid Edge and PowerBi preferred Ability to read Mechanical and Electrical drawings preferred   SAFETY: Safety glasses and hearing protection are required while present on the manufacturing floor.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.  The employee is regularly required to talk and listen and routinely sits and uses hands to finger or handle.  Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.  The incumbent will occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds, such as loading paper in the copier.      WORK ENVIRONMENT: The primary (75%) work area is a typical climate-controlled office cubicle environment. The secondary work area is an assembly floor environment that is loud and without air conditioning.
