Job Details

We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly driven Commercial Collections Specialist to join our expanding team in an onsite capacity, 5 days a week in-office.

This role involves managing past-due accounts, collecting payments, and maintaining an accurate record of financial transactions in a B2B capacity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contacting debtors, negotiating payment plans, and ensuring the company's revenue is secured.

Responsibilities :

• Manage a portfolio of accounts to identify outstanding debts and plan collection procedures.
• Initiate outbound phone calls to customers to discuss and resolve delinquent accounts.
• Negotiate repayment plans with debtors and work out terms of arrangements.
• Document daily collections activity and update customer files to ensure data accuracy.
• Conduct investigations and locate debtors using various databases and software.
• Communicate with third-party collections agencies and represent the company in a professional manner.
• Track payments and update account statuses to reflect the most recent activities.
• Adhere to all federal and state laws regarding debt collection to maintain legal compliance.

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections or a similar role.
• Proven experience with collections, collecting payments, initiating outbound phone calls, working with 3rd party collections, and tracking payments.
• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with databases and collections software.
• Knowledge of legal and ethical debt collection techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is a plus.
• Ability to pass a background check and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
