Job Details
Responsibilities :
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost categories.
- Conduct thorough risk and opportunity analyses for each estimate.
- Review and evaluate project specific cost factors ( location, duration, productivity, etc.).
- Generate project schedules and assist in the preparation of construction schedules.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure comprehensive bid coverage.
- Coordinate with project management teams to ensure estimates are accurate and reflect the project scope.
- Participate in the presentation of estimates to company management and clients.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, material costs, and price fluctuations.
- Use advanced Microsoft Excel skills to develop and maintain cost databases and spreadsheets.
- Evaluate bids, budgets, and cost analyses effectively.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a solid understanding of construction means and methods, accounting, and document organization.
- Ability to read and understand all types of construction drawings and documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in blueprint reading is essential.
- Strong budgeting and bid evaluation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently when required.
