This exciting opportunity will allow you to utilize your mechanical expertise and estimating skills to drive the success of our projects. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our preconstruction process, ensuring our projects are cost-effective, efficient, and align with our high standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed mechanical estimates, including HVAC, MEP, chiller, boiler, and piping systems, for a variety of construction projects.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain bids and quotes.
- Use estimating software such as Trimble and Accubid to prepare accurate and timely estimates.
- Participate in the preparation of bid documents and RFPs, ensuring all aspects of the project are captured and accurately represented.
- Conduct take-offs and work with the Preconstruction Manager ("Pre-Con Manager") to develop strategies and solutions for project execution.
- Regularly communicate with project teams, clients, and management to discuss and resolve issues related to estimates.
- Continually monitor industry trends and advancements in technology to improve estimating processes.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
- Proven experience estimating HVAC systems, MEP, chiller, boiler, and piping projects.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Trimble and Accubid.
- Strong understanding of preconstruction processes, including bid documents, RFPs, and take-offs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members, clients, and suppliers.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate and thorough estimates.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop cost-effective and efficient solutions.
- Knowledge of cooling systems and HVAC systems is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
