We are seeking an Accounting Manager who will partner with the Director of Finance to oversee the accounting functions, including, but not limited to, month-end close, financial statements, reports for the leadership team. You will also help to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, as well as efficiencies for the team.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our thriving media firm. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all aspects of our accounting operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, startup environment where you will have the chance to make a significant impact on our financial operations and contribute to our growth and success.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Meet financial accounting objectives.
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
• Lead and direct accounting staff.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years of experience managing accounting teams.
• Proficient in GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proven experience in a startup environment highly preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven business decisions.
• Knowledge of advanced accounting software.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
