We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and detail-oriented Permanent Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educational and recreational facilities construction, demonstrating a unique blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, and a keen understanding of the construction industry. Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting the Project Manager in all phases of project management, from initial planning to completion.
2. Coordinating and overseeing the construction process, ensuring adherence to quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
3. Developing and managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring projects are completed within budget.
4. Conducting risk assessments, identifying potential risks, and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate potential issues.
5. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Managing communication between project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, and resolving any issues that may arise.
7. Participating in the procurement process, including vendor selection and contract negotiation.
8. Ensuring all projects comply with environmental and safety standards.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, you must have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in project management within the construction industry, with specific experience in educational and recreational facilities construction.
3. Proficiency in construction management software and project management tools.
4. Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
5. Excellent budgeting skills, with the ability to develop and manage project budgets effectively.
6. Proven experience in risk management, with the ability to identify potential risks and implement effective strategies to mitigate them.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships with project stakeholders.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project.
10. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
