The Controller is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing all accounting processes, policies, and procedures for the business to ensure the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements. The position is responsible for the management of general and cost accounting functions for the Jacksonville manufacturing facility.

Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong partnership between Finance and other departments of the company. Job Details
The Controller is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing all accounting processes, policies, and procedures for the business to ensure the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements. The position is responsible for the management of general and cost accounting functions for the Jacksonville manufacturing facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that all financial statements and reports are completed in timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for the implementation of robust internal controls, monitoring compliance, and for the maintenance of adequate documentation.
- Owner of the financial close process ensuring books are closed accurately and within predetermined deadlines.
- Partner with the CFO in preparation of financial reports and commentary.
- Ensures that all monthly account reconciliations are performed accurately, completely, and on-time.
- Responsible for managing staff to include 2 direct reports.
- Managers the audit process and serves as the Audit Leader.
- Implements process and procedural improvements to optimize the workflow within the department.
- Expected to advise immediately of any errors, irregularities or significant adjustments or journal entries as they occur.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science/Arts in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
- 10 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing industry preferred.
- Ability to be a trusted leader in a business transformation in a fast-paced environment is key.
- Experience in a private equity backed company is desirable but not required.
- Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experienced at driving improvement in internal controls.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards.
