We are seeking a dynamic and experienced small company Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as we continue to enhance our quality and capacity. The Permanent Controller will work closely with senior leadership and owners to develop and implement financial strategies across the organization. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and financial reporting ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards.
2. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
3. Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
4. Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
5. Manages the month end closing process to ensure accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.
6. Recommends KPIs that will be used to measure Company performance.
7. Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual review.
8. Implement job cost accounting to track the expenses associated with individual projects and analyze their profitability.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline. A master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in a small business.
3. Ability to implement financial policies and procedures.
4. Proven strategic planning experience.
5. Proficient in using financial software and MS Office.
6. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
8. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
9. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
10. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
