We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to lead our financial team. This is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for overseeing all accounting activities and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of financial regulations and accounting processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our company's financial strategy and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and development.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring all transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Work closely with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit, providing all necessary information and responding to audit findings.
- Implement and maintain financial systems and software, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively addressing any impact on the business.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the finance industry.
- Proficient in accounting software including MS Dynamics, Epicor, SAP, and Netsuite.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory standards.
- Proven leadership skills with an ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
