Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies, including pyramid-based test strategies, test structure/design, performance testing, and test data creation strategies.
- Profile applications to identify areas of high use, high risk, and potential for performance latency, and devise strategies to address these findings.
- Lead the creation and execution of an automation strategy tailored for database-intensive applications, focusing on data access optimization and user query performance.
- Manage and grow a team of 5-10 SDETs, providing leadership, hiring, and career management guidance.
- Efficiently handle day-to-day challenges while planning and executing long-term strategic QA initiatives.
- Oversee QA efforts across two distinct product lines, ensuring strategies are effectively implemented and adapted as the team and products evolve.
- Communicate closely with senior management to provide insights and solutions that guide the strategic direction of QA and product development.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in QA leadership, particularly in developing and implementing QA and automation strategies for database-intensive applications.
- Strong technical expertise, including knowledge of C# .NET, Angular, React, NodeJS, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- A background in software development with a pivot to QA, emphasizing a blend of technical and functional QA expertise.
- Exceptional ability to manage and grow teams, with experience in hiring and career management of SDETs.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and resolve day-to-day operational challenges while maintaining focus on strategic goals.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a 'bee mentality' for collaborative and rapid issue resolution.
- Experience in performance testing, with a capacity to devise short-term fixes and long-term solutions to improve user experience and system reliability.
