Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our Technology industry team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Database and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with experience in managing a team of engineers. The candidate must have a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our database and SRE infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems.
- Develop and implement best practices for database and SRE operations, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Lead the design and implementation of new database and SRE solutions, including evaluating new technologies and tools.
- Experience coding or scripting in Java or Python.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and coach team members to develop their technical and leadership skills.
- Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to ensure alignment with overall company goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in managing a team of engineers in a database and SRE environment.
- Strong experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hbase, Terraform, Cloudformation, Python, Java, Golang, Ruby, Linux/unix, and Chef.
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS.
- Strong understanding of database and SRE best practices, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality solutions on time.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach team members.
