We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Estimator with a focus on metals in the Manufacturing industry. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong background in manufacturing, blueprint reading, Solidworks, estimating, manufacturing processes, and metal fabrication. With your unique skill set, you will play a crucial role in our company, providing accurate cost estimates that will drive our manufacturing projects forward. Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Estimator, you will be responsible for:
1. Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
2. Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
3. Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
4. Preparing estimates
5. Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
6. Interacting with other departments, engineers, and project managers to resolve issues and provide accurate estimates.
7. Utilizing Solidworks and other software to prepare detailed, accurate estimates.
8. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Estimator role should possess the following:
1. A minimum of 2 years' experience as an estimator in the manufacturing industry. HS Diploma a must
2. Solid understanding and experience in blueprint reading, Solidworks, estimating, manufacturing processes, and metal fabrication.
3. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
6. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
8. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
9. A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
