Responsibilities:
Self-Perform:
- Prepare accurate takeoffs for self-perform work
- Quantify concrete, masonry, demotion, and carpentry
- Price labor, material, and equipment using historical data and supplier pricing
- Lead the Self-Perform “SOP” Standard Operating Procedures in a team environment
Hard Bid / Negotiated Projects:
- Prepare accurate estimates for project Hard Bids
- Complete accurate cost analyses
- Develop accurate project schedules
- Work with Estimating and Operation departments on analyzing bids
- Complete subcontractor solicitation
- Develop accurate quantity takeoff and cost models
- Attend interviews on project pursuits
- Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance projects
- Work with senior-level staff on General and Special Condition requirements
Miscellaneous Items:
- Attend postmortem reviews on projects
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
- Develop and execute plans to continuously improve subcontractor relationships
- Promote and leverage the use of technology by staff
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to travel to various construction sites
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift bid documents weighing up to 50 pounds
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field and five years of commercial construction experience; or Associate’s Degree in a construction-related field and 8 years of commercial construction experience.
