Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost components.
2. Utilize your understanding of construction methods, materials, and labor costs to develop comprehensive construction cost estimates.
3. Review and comprehend technical and administrative documents such as bids, contracts, and specifications.
4. Perform risk assessments to identify potential issues and create cost-effective solutions.
5. Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations, effectively communicating the cost estimate to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Work closely with project managers and engineers to develop project strategies, identify potential challenges, and devise contingency plans.
7. Manage the bid process, including budgeting, cost analysis, and project bidding.
8. Use your knowledge of drywall, carpentry, and framing to provide accurate estimates.
9. Maintain current information on industry trends, material costs, and competitor pricing strategies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating, project estimation, and cost management.
3. Proven experience in budgeting, cost analysis, project bidding, and risk assessment.
4. Familiarity with construction/estimating software.
5. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and a keen eye for detail.
6. Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
7. Proficient in drywall, carpentry, and framing.
8. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
9. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
11. Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other relevant certification will be a plus.
