Responsibilities:
As a Contract HBM Machinist, your responsibilities will include:
1. Operating and maintaining a variety of machine tools including lathes, mills, and 5-axis machining centers.
2. Using precision measuring instruments such as calipers to verify dimensions of machined parts.
3. Interpreting blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) files to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
4. Setting up, adjusting, and securing special fixtures or parts onto machines.
5. Monitoring the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and making necessary adjustments to ensure conformance to specifications.
6. Conducting tests and inspections of machined products, and documenting results.
7. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
8. Collaborating with team members to improve machining processes and increase efficiency.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Contract HBM Machinist position will have the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a machinist, preferably in the mortgage industry.
2. Proficiency in operating lathes, mills, and 5-axis machining centers.
3. Solid knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and production layout.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD files.
5. Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
9. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational training program in machining is preferred.
