We are seeking a Contract Hydrology Expert to join our dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expertise in the field of hydrology, particularly in the areas of water quantity and quality, runoff, and the water cycle. This role will involve working closely with our design and engineering teams to ensure that all construction projects are designed and implemented in a way that is environmentally responsible and sustainable.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct hydrological analyses and assessments for construction projects, including the design and implementation of stormwater management systems.
- Run computer-aided models to analyze hydrological data and predict water flow patterns and volumes.
- Develop and implement techniques to improve water quantity and quality in construction projects.
- Provide expert advice on how runoff contributes to the water cycle and how this can be managed effectively in construction projects.
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to integrate hydrological considerations into construction designs.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies for potential hydrological impacts of construction projects.
- Prepare and present reports and findings to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in hydrology and related fields and apply this knowledge to our construction projects.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant environmental regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hydrology, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in running computer-aided models to analyze hydrological data.
- Strong knowledge of the principles and techniques for improving water quantity and quality.
- Deep understanding of the water cycle and how runoff contributes to it.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex hydrological challenges.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex hydrological concepts to non-experts.
- Proficiency in using hydrological modeling software.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards related to hydrology in construction.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Professional certification in hydrology (e.g., Professional Hydrologist) would be an advantage.
