Job Details
We are a boutique law firm seeking an experienced Land / Use & Zoning Associate to join our team. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to work on complex land use and zoning matters, liaising with government officials, and handling transactional real estate.
Responsibilities :
- Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of land use and zoning matters, including but not limited to moratorium and annexation.
- Represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and trials related to land use and zoning disputes.
- Liaise with government officials, community stakeholders, and other relevant parties to facilitate land use and zoning processes.
- Draft, review, and negotiate transactional real estate documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to land use and zoning.
- Contribute to the firm's business development efforts by building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications :
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an associate attorney with a focus on land use and zoning.
- Active member of the state bar.
- Proven experience in moratorium and annexation processes.
- Demonstrable experience in liaising with government officials and handling transactional real estate.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to represent clients effectively in various legal proceedings.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Experience working in a boutique firm is a plus.
