We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Permanent Locum General Surgeon to join our dynamic medical team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in general surgery and have a proven track record of providing exceptional patient care. This role is an excellent opportunity for a surgeon who is looking to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, innovative medical environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of surgical procedures, managing patient care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform a variety of general surgical procedures, including but not limited to appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removal, and other abdominal surgeries.
2. Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to patients.
3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate patient treatment.
4. Participate in clinical decision making and provide consultation services within the specialty of general surgery.
5. Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, potential risks, and postoperative care.
6. Participate in research activities related to surgery.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest advancements in general surgery.
8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality and following infection control protocols.
9. Participate in regular department meetings and professional development activities.
10. Be available on-call to handle emergencies.
Qualifications:
1. Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
2. Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in general surgery.
4. Current and valid licensure to practice medicine in the state.
5. Advanced surgical skills and experience in performing a variety of general surgical procedures.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
7. Strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
8. Knowledge of current medical laws and ethics.
9. Commitment to continuous education and staying updated with the latest advancements in general surgery.
10. Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to a high standard of ethical conduct.
11. Willingness to participate in hospital's on-call schedule.
