We seek a dynamic and experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead our fast-paced, innovative machine shop. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations within our facility, ensuring that we meet our production goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a challenging, rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
As a Machine Shop Manager, your primary duties will include:
1. Overseeing all aspects of the machine shop operations, including CNC machining, scheduling, and quality control.
2. Supervising a team of machinists, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure productivity and efficiency.
3. Developing and implementing safety protocols to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
4. Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth production processes.
5. Implementing process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
6. Managing machine maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
7. Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.
8. Providing regular reports on shop performance, including productivity, efficiency, and safety statistics.
9. Training and developing staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
10. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a machine shop management role.
2. Proven experience as a CNC machinist.
3. Strong knowledge of machine shop procedures and management principles.
4. Excellent understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a machine shop setting.
5. Exceptional leadership and supervisory skills, with a proven ability to manage a team effectively.
6. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to schedule and prioritize tasks effectively.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with team members and other departments.
9. A commitment to continuous improvement and staying abreast of the latest industry developments.
