Job Details
Tasks:
- Monitor and analyze quality performance.
- Develop workflows, processes, and work instructions.
- Review client specifications and work with teams for FPQ, APQP, MPP, PPAP, and third-party certifications.
- Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues. Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
- Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements. Lead the investigation of quality complaints from customers or vendors; perform RCA, 8-D analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure engineering and quality specifications are met.
- Review standards, specifications, and processes. Produce specifications for elevators, ladders, and other climbing access equipment for compliance with North American standards such as ASME and UL standards.
- Research, design, develop, and test cost-effective mechanical systems, components, attachments, etc. Review vendor-supplied data and drawings to comply with company drawings and specifications.
- Ensure quality of PLC programming, electrical designs, and purchased components by developing and documenting test plans and conducting, analyzing, and documenting test results.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations as needed, produce detailed design drawings, and manage drawing revisions and BOMs in PLM and ERP systems.
- Support Service lifts production by developing work instructions for production and testing. Update and develop system life cycle and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Lead with the Continuous improvement team to determine ways to reduce labor using robotics and actuators. Document specifications and material requirements on all designs;
- Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components; schedule initial pilot runs to verify the manufacturability of the product.
- Conferring with suppliers on design details, costs, and schedules of purchased products; evaluating supplier parts/systems
- Support the procurement effort for equipment, fabrications, and services purchased directly by the company.
- Perform other related activities as requested.
- If needed, provide hands-on technical support, diagnostics, and troubleshooting functions to manufacturing operations.
Experience:
- Basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, and controls.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control concepts RCA and 8D reports, and ISO 9001: 2015.
- Knowledge of 2D-3D modeling,
- Proficiency with MS Office Software.
- Experience in an automated manufacturing environment, controls, and PLC programming are preferable.
Responsibility:
- Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring implementation and performance of QMS, writing specifications, developing detailed design drawings, and ensuring compliance supplied equipment.
- Interpret and incorporate client specifications, review vendor and client data/drawings, specifications, supplied equipment, and inspection.
- Work directly with Project teams and engineers from other disciplines to execute projects and will interact with counterparts in affiliate companies.
- Support continuous improvement, process optimization, reliability, expansion, and upgrade projects
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 0-5 years of related job experience
