Is your background a match?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of experience with mechanical systems (gantry cranes, facilities and industrial infrastructure, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, etc)
- Able to lead and work with cross-functional engineering teams
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Solidworks
- Proven organizational, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Prior experience with cranes, hoists, rigging and below-the-hook lifting devices in heavy industrial environment with working knowledge of heavy industrial equipment (rolling mills and material handling equipment preferred)
- Hands-on experience designing, installing, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial systems and equipment, including cranes, lifting and material handling, pumping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Preliminary knowledge of crane engineering, industry safety standards and related codes and specifications
- Possess strong mechanical and structural engineering skills
- Strong understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc.
- Provide engineering support and leadership of the site crane and below-the-hook device engineering and safety programs
- Provide leadership of the crane inspection crew
- Engineering support to maintenance and operations
- Provide technical solutions to recurring design, process and application problems, analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities and develop solutions and system improvements to address those opportunities
- Develop, manage and implement capital projects, major repairs and maintenance projects and provide some mechanical engineering support to all manufacturing and plant areas
