The successful candidate will assist in handling medical malpractice cases and will work closely with our legal team in managing these complex cases. Responsibilities
As a Permanent Paralegal (med/mal), your responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- Assisting attorneys in the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical records related to medical malpractice cases.
- Working closely with medical experts to prepare for depositions and trials.
- Coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other relevant parties.
- Maintaining case files, calendars, and databases to ensure organized and efficient case management.
- Assisting in the preparation of case strategies and trial preparations.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and court rules.
- Providing additional administrative support to attorneys as needed.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal in medical malpractice or a related field. OR
- A Registered Nurse (RN) credential or equivalent experience in a medical field.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
- Exceptional research and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in using legal research software and other computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and case management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
