Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Directs the processing of bi-weekly employee payroll payments on time subject to proper leadership approvals
- Calculates and deducts appropriate amounts for payroll checks, including tax withholdings and other garnishments
- Ensures proper protocols are in place to approve payroll adjustments, tax deductions, bonuses and reimbursements
- Supervises, coaches, and trains payroll processing staff. Assign duties and examine work for accuracy and conformance to payroll policies and procedures
- Ensures commitment to process improvement and cross-functional collaboration with business partners to build an efficient and scalable payroll process
- Follow-up and resolve system issues related to timely submission of interfaces and data
- Audits payroll for accuracy and compliance of policies and procedures
- Resolves escalated payroll related issues
Qualifications:
- 10 years in payroll for a multi-state, multi-company organization
- Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources Management
- Master’s degree a plus
- CPP Certification
- Experience with UKG and Smartlinx timekeeping and payroll software preferred
- In-depth knowledge of labor legislation and tax regulations
- Proficiency with computer and software applications used in job functions (processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
