Job Description:
The Plumbing Designer/Engineer will work on a variety of projects, from small to large, providing a very high level of technical leadership in plumbing design. Designers are assigned specific tasks on the project team and are involved in the design of building plumbing systems, with a strong emphasis on innovation and sustainability
Plumbing Engineer/ Designer Job Duties:
Will be expected to design portions of a project.
Instructs drafters on how to reduce designs into completed drawings.
Will perform some designs directly on CAD/Revit.
Performing fixture unit calculations for water and sewer demand.
Sizing domestic water heaters based on demand and recovery.
Completing California Title 24 Energy Compliance documentation.
Sizing and specifying materials for sanitary, waste, vent, and stormwater piping.
Layout of piping systems in plan and isometric views.
Calculating the pressure drop for open and closed systems and sizing related pumps.
Consulting on areas such as the preparation of existing facility diligence, sustainability analyses, and feasibility reports.
Reviewing product data submittals for conformance to contract documents.
Performing periodic construction site observations and preparing reports.
Working to satisfy project commitments within the stated schedule and financial goals.
Interface with other disciplines involved in the design team to coordinate mechanical requirements.
Contribute to timely responses to RFIs and submittals.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Plumbing Design field.
BA degree preferred or similar combination of professional experience and education
Solid knowledge of Mechanical/ Plumbing trades, building codes, and drawings/documents.
Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) Certification, highly preferred
Desired Qualifications
Experience in the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit
