A Project Manager-Construction with laboratory and/or cleanroom buildout experience is needed on a direct hire basis for a very large, national, construction corporation in the general Los Angeles area. This unique role will offer the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to work on a laboratory and cleanroom buildout. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, contract negotiation, and overseeing the execution of construction work.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review the work progress on a daily basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
- Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Manage the financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, bidding, and contract negotiation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
- Instruct and supervise a team of construction workers, including construction laborers and helpers.
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience in construction project management for 3 years.
- Must have at least one year of experience in a laboratory and/or cleanroom buildout.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for quality workmanship.
