Position: Quality Assurance Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: First shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00pm to 4:00pm
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
POSITION SUMMARY
Seeking a driven QA Manager. The qualified candidate will report to the Business Unit Manager and be responsible to plan, coordinate, and direct quality control programs designed to ensure compliant and continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through their subordinates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
• Provides necessary inspection activities for each product throughout production cycle.
• Applies total quality management tools and approaches utilizing analytical and reporting processes as appropriate within each department.
• Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, inspection equipment, and products.
• Works with suppliers to ensure the quality of all purchased parts for company use.
• Plays active role on quality management teams within organization and prepares and conducts Quarterly Management review meetings.
• Designs and implements quality control training programs for key personnel in conjunction with managers.
• Investigates and resolves any customer complaints regarding quality.
• Has the lead role in facilitating Customer, ISO, and FDA Audits
• Provides, in conjunction with MRB activities, the disposition of parts for acceptance or rejection.
• Ensure finished products are monitored for conformance to customer requirements.
• Ensures that measurement and test equipment is calibrated per required schedule
• Ensures that a quality system is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001.
• Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma and ideally 8 years of Quality Assurance experience or equivalent in an Injection Molding or Job Shop environment. BA or BS Degree strongly preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and working knowledge of statistical (SPC) programs.
• Good Mechanical Aptitude.
• Must be able to use micrometers, Vernier/dial calipers, and other basic measuring tools
• Must be familiar with the use and operation of optical comparators and co-ordinate-measuring machines (basic CMM programming a plus).
• Optical CMM / Creating Programs for Part Inspection
• Certification in Inspection Equipment/Tools (such as CMM’s) or equivalent work experience, desired.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English. Must be able to compose and write intelligible instructions, reports, and letters.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Good eyesight for reading of blueprints and visual inspection of product
• Ability and dexterity to manipulate product and inspection equipment.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS
• Bilingual in English/Spanish, highly preferred
• Proficiency with MS Access, desired
• Strong knowledge of PPAP Requirements
• Experience with GD&T/True positioning/Blueprint reading
• Demonstrated experience with 8D/5 Why processes
• Have ISO Auditor Certification or Auditing Experience
• Familiarity with ISO9001, FDA/GMP’s, and ITAR programs.
