We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Safety Manager to join our vibrant team in the Engineering industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who is passionate about fostering a culture of safety and has a proven track record in managing safety and security policies, OSHA compliance, and workers' compensation. As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and enforcing safety protocols throughout the company. You will be instrumental in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness.
Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and manage the company's safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
2. Oversee and ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and other federal, state, and local safety-related legislation.
3. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure safety measures are in place.
4. Lead incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
5. Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees.
6. Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
7. Collaborate with management to develop strategic safety and health goals and objectives.
8. Continuously monitor and improve the safety culture within the company.
9. Stay updated with the latest developments in safety laws and regulations that impact the company.
10. Prepare and present safety reports for senior management.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Safety Manager role within the Engineering industry.
3. Proven knowledge and mastery of OSHA compliance and workers' compensation.
4. Experience in developing and implementing safety and security policies.
5. Proven experience in conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and delivering safety training.
6. Demonstrated ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture within the organization.
7. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
9. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is preferred.
10. Familiarity with production processes and understanding of the inherent safety risks and hazards is a must.
