The Senior Accountant, Corporate will assist with multiple disciplines of the accounting department, reconciling the company bank accounts, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, leading reconciliation and review process for corporate expense report management, company credit card reconciliation, intercompany billing reconciliations, managing corporate insurance premium reconciliation, inputting payroll journal entries, and recording treasury activity.

Job Description:
The Senior Accountant, Corporate will assist with multiple disciplines of the accounting department, reconciling the company bank accounts, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, leading reconciliation and review process for corporate expense report management, company credit card reconciliation, intercompany billing reconciliations, managing corporate insurance premium reconciliation, inputting payroll journal entries, and recording treasury activity.
Objectives of this Role:
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile bank accounts, and maintain lead sheets for all balance sheet accounts for corporate management company.
- Assist in the production of the financial statements for management company and meet deadlines as required.
- Interface with Senior Property Accountants and Community Managers to investigate activity between management company and communities.
- Assist in Corporate Accounts payable payment cycle and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts
- Review monthly financial statements in conjunction with Senior Accountants to ensure timely and accurate reporting of transactional data for multiple communities
- Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance;
- CPA preferred
- Strong excel skills and technically inclined mindset for process improvements;
- Preferred minimum of 2-3 years experience in public environment;
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP;
- Excellent written, verbal, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- RealPage accounting system experience preferred;
- Minimum of 2 years of Real Estate industry accounting experience preferred;
- Flexible and enthusiastic.
