We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all financial systems and processes, supporting the monthly and annual financial close process, and enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. The individual will also be responsible for the application of accounting principles to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy work place, and is well-versed in working closely with senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
- Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
- Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
- Provide internal and external auditing services for businesses and individuals.
- Perform account reconciliations and generate financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or related field.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Proficient in SAP and other accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting theory and GAAP.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
- Proven knowledge in Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, Account Reconciliation, Internal Controls, and Financial Statements.
