Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the preparation and evaluation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
2. Perform cost accounting tasks to track, analyze, and control costs associated with manufacturing processes.
3. Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes, offering insights and recommendations based on thorough financial analysis.
4. Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
5. Identify and analyze financial variances, investigating any significant discrepancies and proposing appropriate solutions.
6. Manage internal controls, ensuring they are effective and recommending improvements where necessary.
7. Prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
8. Conduct financial audits, identifying any areas of risk and proposing strategies to mitigate these.
9. Collaborate with other team members and departments to streamline processes, improve financial performance, and achieve company objectives.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA designation is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficient in financial analysis, accounting, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, cost accounting, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, tax preparation, financial audits, month-end procedures, and variance analysis.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful recommendations.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to a variety of stakeholders.
8. Proficient in using accounting software and other standard office applications, such as Excel.
9. Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all tasks.
10. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
