Job Details
Currently they are looking for a Social Worker who can work out of their office in Santa Ana, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Interview adult clients and assess legal, social, medical, psychological and other needs to assist them to better navigate the legal process and secure stable housing
- Provide limited counseling and significant emotional support to address clients’ psychosocial needs; refer to and coordinate counseling, medical and mental health treatment, housing, public benefits, and other social services
- Coordinate communication with and advocate on behalf of adult clients to law enforcement, government agencies, social service agencies, educational institutions, medical and legal professionals, and others to help clients understand and navigate the legal system and improve their housing stability
- Potentially supervise social work students working with PLC clients
- Participate in community workshops and educational presentations
Requirements:
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese fluency strongly preferred
- Experience working with low-income communities and unhoused populations
- Excellent public speaking skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience working as part of a legal team a plus
- Must have own transportation, valid CA Driver’s license, insurance and good driving record
