SUMMARY
The Application Developer will design and develop solutions with the Core Development Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core applications that form the backbone of our enterprise systems. This is a great opportunity for someone with 1 years of experience who is looking to gain experience in a fast-paced and dynamic enterprise environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Become familiar with existing applications and environments
- Design, develop, and maintain core applications using Open Edge ABL and other programming languages as necessary
- Develop RESTful APIs for application integration
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in object-oriented programming languages
- Implement unit testing and follow SOLID principles to ensure code quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features and functionality
- Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise
- Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices are maintained
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
- Follow the standard, practices, and processes of the team.
- Collaborate with process owners and SMEs to understand the process, key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs) and how that process might best be implemented.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES
Required
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Experience developing RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and programming languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in Open Edge ABL is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with other programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is acceptable
- Demonstrated knowledge of and applicability of object-oriented techniques and principles.

- Knowledge in the distribution industry.
- Knowledge of the Open Edge ABL Programming Language
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required
- Education
- Two (2) year degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
- Experience
- Zero (0) to Two (2) years of experience in software development.
- Understanding of Enterprise software systems and Line of Business development
Preferred
- Education
- Four (4) year degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
- Experience
- Two (2) to Five (5) year of experience in software development.
- Experience with TFS (Azure DevOps).
- Experience with Git.
- Experience with Azure Pipelines
- Previous experience in the distribution industry
- Experience developing with Open Edge ABL
- Development of APIs
