We are looking for a talented Solutions Architect with a strong background in Java development and containerized microservices to lead the process of designing, developing, testing, and implementing modern applications. You'll work with middleware technologies and databases to prepare detailed technical specifications from which integration services will be written. You'll own and deliver your own solutions independently and lead the less experienced developers.

Job Details
We are looking for a talented Solutions Architect with a strong background in Java development and containerized microservices to lead the process of designing, developing, testing, and implementing modern applications. You'll work with middleware technologies and databases to prepare detailed technical specifications from which integration services will be written. You'll own and deliver your own solutions independently and lead the less experienced developers.
Job Responsibilities:
- 50% hands-on coding and 50% architecture
- Meet with business stakeholders along side of our Business Analyst to understand user/customer pain points, analyze current processes and tech stack, gather requirements for software modernizations and upgrades, design solutions & build POC's, and lead the development and debugging of Java/J2EE based software
- Guide our engineering teams in the modernization of our application suite over to containerized microservices using Spring Boot and OpenShift
- Design and deploy database schemas and specify all attributes of database tables including primary keys, foreign keys, identities, constraints, default values, indexes and triggers
- Resolve defects discovered during testing and independently resolve the issues if able and available
- Help us resolve critical escalations of our production environment in the meantime as needed
- Process documentation to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Lead less experienced developers and assist them with issues and questions
Ideal Background:
- 10 years of experience as a Java Developer with full-stack web development experience
- Experience modernizing enterprise apps with containerized microservices - strong expertise in Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Docker / Kubernetes or OpenShift is required
- Experience assisting in the modernization of legacy app front-ends built with various generations of tech, for example JavaScript/jQuery, JSP/JSF, Angular, React.js, and AEM
- Ability to communicate with a technical and non-technical audience and explain complex concepts in a way that sounds simple so the value can be clearly understood
- Expertise with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
