Our client is a small start up local to the bay area in the media and ad-tech space who was founded by the co-founders of Instagram. They are an AI-driven news feed that puts you in control by using AI to find you the most informative free stories within your interests, weed out clickbait, and instantly summarize articles. We are growing our engineering team looking to add a few engineers this quarter.

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our business by extracting insights from complex data sets and developing advanced analytics solutions. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis. Role

We're hoping to work with unusually driven people who aren't satisfied with the status quo. For this role, we're looking for a technical and entrepreneurial problem solver who loves data and wants to help us build the next generation of social media products. The Lead Data Scientist will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as experimentation analysis, testing framework development, root cause analysis, retention modeling and core metrics reporting. Above all though, this role is a key partner in helping us use data to determine our roadmap and take on any hard problem that comes our way. This is a full-time role for someone located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields that provide a strong foundation for technical analysis. Advanced degrees are preferred but not required
8 years of experience in data science, product analysis or comparable roles
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Extraordinary drive and dedication to getting things done and figuring out solutions
Strong communication skills and ability to synthesize the data clearly
Fluency in Python, NumPy and Pandas. Ability to create Jupyter notebooks to analyze and visualize data
Experience building ML models to predict retention or other engagement metrics
Experience analyzing the usage of consumer applications or software-based products
