This position is responsible for recording, reviewing, and evaluating the financial transactions for a portfolio of owned, managed, or joint-ventured residential properties. We are growing fast and have a great retention record, with an amazing team who support each other on projects!
- Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting principles and company policies and procedures
- Reconcile bank accounts and prepare monthly bank statements
- Assist with annual budget preparation and variance analysis
- Prepare and file tax returns, including property tax and sales tax filings
- Coordinate with property management teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist with ad hoc projects and reports as needed
Job Details
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 4-10 years of experience in real estate / property accounting
- Desired: experience managing a multi-family portfolio of properties (opportunity will be there for commercial mixed use as well).
- Experience handling tenant expenses, security deposits, move in and move outs fees, misc. fees, general ledge duties and more!
- Experience with Yardi software required
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for reporting.
