We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning and overseeing projects, ensuring that structures are safe, reliable and efficient. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from residential and commercial buildings to bridges and tunnels, and to contribute to the creation of infrastructure that makes a real difference to people's lives.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Structural Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Designing and analyzing structural components and systems in accordance with established codes and standards.
2. Preparing and reviewing structural engineering drawings and specifications.
3. Conducting site inspections and structural assessments, identifying potential problems and recommending solutions.
4. Collaborating with architects, contractors, and other professionals on project design and construction.
5. Performing forensic investigations, determining causes of structural failures and developing remediation plans.
6. Serving as a special inspector on construction projects, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
7. Providing guidance and direction to junior engineers and technical staff.
8. Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in structural engineering and incorporating new techniques and technologies into your work.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Structural Engineer position will have the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on design, analysis, and inspection.
3. Current licensure as a Professional Structural Engineer (P.E.) is required.
4. Experience in forensic construction and investigation is highly desirable.
5. Certification as a special inspector is a plus.
6. Proficiency in using structural engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SAP2000.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex engineering challenges.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
9. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional ethics.
