Job Details
***This is an onsite role and will be based in CT. The successful candidate should be able to commute to the location or be open to relocation***
Responsibilities:
- In this role, you will report to the Director of Tax Accounting and Reporting, and will participate in the preparation and review of all aspects of worldwide financial tax accounting and reporting to ensure compliance with ASC 740 and all relevant SEC reporting requirements as they relate to corporate income tax
- In this role, you will work with a worldwide team to identify and manage tax accounting issues related to potential permanent items, timing of adjustments, determination of discrete versus annual effective tax rate items, proper deferred tax accounting and substantiation of deferred tax balances
- You will participate in the preparation and review of the consolidated worldwide quarterly and annual tax provision and footnote, including the determination of current and deferred income tax expense, unrecognized tax benefits, valuation allowances, and income taxes payable
- You will also work with the corporate and worldwide accounting teams to ensure that book items are properly tax-effected
- In addition, you will participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a strong tax provision process and internal control environment
- You will prepare reconciliations of current taxes payable and worldwide cash income taxes paid, and assist in the preparation of tax reports and presentations for senior management in the company
- You will also work on special projects as required, including but not limited to, accounting method changes, planning, and acquisition related work, as well as assist with external auditor requests and questions as part of the quarterly and annual review / audit
Qualification:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA and/or a Master of Tax is preferred
- You should have a minimum of 4 years of experience of progressively responsible experience in public accounting, and/or detailed tax experience in a mid to large size corporation
- Possess strong understanding of ASC 740, including with respect to deferred tax accounting, unrecognized tax benefits, valuation allowance, and interim accounting
- Demonstrated experience with preparing and/or auditing income tax footnotes for mid to large sized public corporations under US GAAP
- You should have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrable experience in having effective interaction with various groups / specialists within Finance or public accounting firm to drive reliable external income tax reporting
- Be hands-on and detail oriented with experience in use of different IT tools and general ledger systems
- Must demonstrate willingness to utilize tax technology-related software and tools, including Alteryx, Tableau, Sharepoint and advanced utilization of Microsoft suite of products
- You must be a strong self-directed professional with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced demanding environment, handle multiple tasks, problem solve and effectively follow-through
- Technology experience with Alteryx, Tableau, as well as systems experience such as Hyperion, SAP, JDE is strongly preferred
