Position Summary:

Market Quality & Clinical Program Manager Conducts will oversee all Person and MPH Physician Practices Quality initiatives. The Market Quality & Clinical Manager will work directly with staff and providers to implement appropriate workflows to ensure metric targets are met. This individual will work closely with all clinical licensed staff to ensure competencies. The MQCM will oversee clinical care essential to assessment, promotion, maintenance and restoration of the patient's health and wellness. The MQCM will obtain training to become the market superuser.

Reports to: Market Director of Amb & Physician Services

 

Responsibilities of the Position:

Basic Duties

The Market Quality & Clinical Manager is responsible for oversight of all clinical staff functions in employed medical practices. Assists the managers in interviewing, hiring, orienting, and training clinical staff. Evaluates the performance of staff in conjunction with providers. Responsible for ongoing clinical education and compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Establishes clinical protocols for on-going success of practices.

Works with practice managers, staff, providers, and HSC resources to ensure quality metrics are met. Collaborate with this same group to identify and remove any barriers to meeting measures. The manager will obtain training to become the market Athena superuser.

Requires the ability to compare and or judge the readily observable functional, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people, or things.

Interpersonal Communication

Requires the ability to hear, speak and /or signal people to convey or exchange information. Includes giving/receiving assignments and/or directions to co-workers or assistants/from supervisors. Responsible for oversight and assistance in managing patient needs, complaints, and suggesting solutions to patient care problems.

Language Ability

Requires the ability to read and understand a variety of computer program guides, maps, publications, policy manuals, informational documentation, directions, instructions, and methods and procedures. Requires the ability to prepare purchase orders, correspondence, and other assorted reports and documentation using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style. Requires the ability to speak to people with poise, voice control, and confidence.

Intelligence

Requires the ability to learn and understand basic principles and techniques; to acquire and be able to expound on knowledge of topics related to primary occupation; and to make independent judgments in the absence of management.

Verbal Aptitude

Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, and to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of administrative, technical, or professional languages.

Interpersonal

Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under moderate stress when confronted with an emergency.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.

Minimum of three years of nursing experience, with active North Carolina RN license is required.

 

Required Skills
Licenses: North Carolina or Compact State active Registered Nursing License.

Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

 

Minimum Work Experience

Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Maintains strong relationship with providers and staff.

Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and able to meet deadlines.

Possess good organizational skills.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Must work cooperatively with others. Mentoring practice clinical staff for growth in market.

Skilled in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the community.

Knowledge of content of medical records and chart audits reviews.

Excellent computer skills working with Electronic Medical Records/Documentation systems as well as Word, PowerPoint and Excel for data collection, documentation, and presentation purposes.

Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
