SUMMARY
Supports Store Operations with the execution, planning, and accountability of all meat department merchandising, policies, procedures and training. Provides technical assistance and support to the company’s Store Managers and Meat Department Managers to ensure successful meat department operations.

High school diploma, G.E.D., or continuing high school studies. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have extensive knowledge of the meat and grocery industries and be comfortable with using Email, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Acceptable driver’s record with valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Certified Food Safety Manager or certification attained within one year of obtaining position. The company will order an updated MVR report annually.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Essential Job Functions
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Travels to store locations to inspect meat department facilities; receiving, storing, and displaying of products. Directly impacts the company’s meat department operations policies and procedures by developing and revising policies and procedures when necessary. Evaluates competitors and consults with vendors and customers to be efficient in category management while offering suggestions to the VP of Store Operations and the buying department. Examines products bought for resale or received for storage.
Plans store visits and works directly with the meat merchandisers to provide technical assistance to the store managers and meat department managers as follows:
Oversee and insure proper protocol is followed in the Meat Department;
Direct, coordinate, & evaluate the Meat Department operations;
Assist the Store Manager with recruiting, interviewing, and training meat department managers and meat cutters;
Assist with preparation of the meat department managers’ job performance review; and
Assist the meat department manager with planning, assigning, and directing work in their department.
