Accounting Associate II - Full-Time
Location: Boston, MA or Springfield, MA
The Opportunity:
Join our team as an Accounting Associate II in the Investments Accounting division. Your role will involve ensuring the accurate and timely completion of accounting processes for residential mortgage loan assets. This includes monitoring and governance, process change, and transaction controls. You will also contribute to improving efficiency and adding value to our initiatives.
The Team:
The Investment Controllership team is part of the Controllers organization. We oversee various asset classes and investment activity. Our team is committed to providing timely and accurate financial information while working collaboratively and inclusively. We continuously strive for improvement in our processes and accountability.
The Impact:
- Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and other accounting information
- Collaborate with the Investment Management team
- Analyze trends and communicate financial performance
- Perform reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist in financial analysis and audits
- Identify opportunities for improvement and lead projects
- Ensure adherence to accounting regulations and control frameworks
- Participate in the implementation of a new ledger system
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4 years of relevant work experience with increasing responsibility
- Previous exposure to investment or mortgage accounting
- CPA certification or progress towards it
- Knowledge of STAT and GAAP accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptability and willingness to learn
- Regular meetings with the Investments Accounting Team
