Position: Part-Time Dental Assistant (16 Hours Per Week)
Shift: 1st Shift (8am - 4:30pm), Monday - Friday
Location: Akron - Onsite
Summary:
The Dental Assistant provides support to dentists and dental hygienists, and offers personalized instruction and guidance to patients of the Dental Clinic.
Responsibilities:
Efficiently assist the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist, and provide individualized instruction and guidance to patients.
Demonstrate competent Dental Assistant skills in providing age-appropriate care and service to patients.
Participate in educational, safety, and quality initiatives in the Dental Practice.
Perform other duties as required.
Other Information:
Technical Expertise:
Experience as a chairside assistant in "4-handed dentistry" is required.
Experience treating and teaching healthy and medically compromised patients is required.
Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
Experience working in healthcare is preferred.
Experience working with various levels within an organization is required.
Experience in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
Experience and willingness to work with Nitrous Oxide.
Experience and/or willingness to work in a surgical setting with complex cases is required.
Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of an accredited dental assistant training program or equivalent experience is required. Associates Degree preferred.
Certification: Current certificate to practice dental radiography in the State of Ohio is required. Nitrous Monitoring certificate required or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Years of relevant experience: Minimum 2 or more years of clinical experience in dental assisting.
No supervisory experience required.
