Lead Software Engineer - Back End

As a Software Engineer at Capital One, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of driving major transformations within our company.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team of developers working on diverse technology projects, focusing on distributed microservices and full stack systems to meet regulatory needs.
- Stay informed about the latest tech trends, experiment with new technologies, engage in internal and external tech communities, mentor other engineers, and occasionally write or evaluate code.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans to achieve financial success.
- Use programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, as well as open source databases, container orchestration services, and various AWS tools.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- 7 years of experience in Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
- 2 years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
- 4 years of experience in open source frameworks
- 1 years of people management experience
- 2 years of experience in Agile practices

Salary Information:
- New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $197,400 - $225,300 for Lead Software Engineer
- San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $209,200 - $238,700 for Lead Software Engineer
(Note: Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed-upon hours.)
