Responsibilities

- The nurse manager 24/7 practice ensures quality patient care in specified areas by coordinating operational, fiscal, and personnel activities.
- They contribute to strategic planning and goal achievement while advocating for efficient, safe, and compassionate nursing care.
- The role involves budget management and fostering shared decision-making among the team.
- The nurse manager also acts as a resource and promotes collaboration within the healthcare community.
- This position may include supervision of assigned inpatient units.

Note: The position is eligible for TN sponsorship. Applicants with F1 status eligible for post-completion OPT may apply, but the role isn't eligible for the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful sponsorship requires state licensure and completion of VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

- Graduation from an accredited baccalaureate nursing program and a Masters degree in Nursing, business, or a related field approved by the Mayo Clinic Nurse Executive Committee.
- Candidates committed to completing their degree within six months from the application date may also be considered.
- Minimum of three years of nursing practice or progressive leadership experience, preferably with one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in the specialty area are preferred.
- Current state RN license or a license accepted by the State Board of Nursing in the RN's practice location.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers is required prior to the start date.

The role follows Monday - Friday business hours with flexibility to support 24/7 practice as needed.
