What Will You Do?

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in our Cardiac Surgery ICU, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include:

Overseeing the care of patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU, including those undergoing complex procedures such as CABG, valve replacement/repairs, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, aortic dissections, and aneurysm repairs.

Performing bedside procedures, writing progress notes, participating in daily rounds, writing orders, dictating discharge notes, and contributing to hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless continuity of care.

Experience Requirements:

At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in cardiothoracic surgery.

Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience.

2 or more years of experience managing cardiothoracic surgery patients or cardiac patients (preferred).

ICU experience (required).

Working knowledge of managing device patients (preferred).

Educational/Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Master of Nursing Degree.

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License.

National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner.

Current DEA license and Furnishing Number or eligibility to obtain.

Current ACLS certification (required).

AGACNP certification.
