Senior Operations Supervisor (Supply Chain/Logistics)

Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated leader to oversee and coordinate daily operations in our logistics and supply chain department. This includes managing driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, customer service, and more. Your role will involve scheduling and supervising our team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and meeting company objectives. You will also be involved in the hiring process and customer meetings when necessary. Your expertise will be utilized to review truck runs, optimize routes, and identify opportunities for improvement in our fleet utilization.

Major Responsibilities:
- People: Communicate performance standards, interview and recommend new hires, monitor attendance and productivity, and provide counseling or recognition to associates as needed.
- Operations: Supervise logistics operations, including customer service, loading and unloading, and dispatch. Evaluate work methods and recommend improvements to increase productivity. Provide training to new associates and offer relief coverage when necessary. Ensure compliance with operational procedures and resolve exceptions. Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Finance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, such as inventory control and returns. Manage associate working hours to minimize overtime and meet productivity targets.
- Safety: Align daily management and associate activities with our safety strategy. Provide communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure a safe working environment. Comply with all regulatory agencies and company policies.
- Growth / Customer Experience: Understand customer goals and objectives, communicate our commitment to helping them succeed, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Fleet/Assets: Plan work assignments effectively to optimize the use of our fleet and warehouse equipment. Train associates on safe and efficient equipment operation.

Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of related experience in logistics or a similar field.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Good organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Regular attendance is essential. Willingness to travel, work required schedules, complete necessary paperwork, and pass background and drug screenings.

Physical Requirements:
- The associate should be able to read, communicate effectively, analyze information, and follow instructions.
- Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to handle and move objects. Occasional lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required.
- Specific vision abilities, such as close vision and depth perception, are necessary.
