**Job Opportunity: Sovereign Credit Analyst at Sovereign Credit Management**
At Sovereign Credit Management (SCM), we aim to assess country risks and sovereign creditworthiness for Citigroup. As part of our mission to make Citi more competitive and stronger in managing risks, we are seeking a Sovereign Credit Analyst to join our team.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and propose risk settings for a portfolio of countries/counterparts and ensure that these views are adequately reflected in sovereign/country exposures.
- Propose Watchlist designations for countries and establish triggers.
- Propose internal risk ratings for sovereign, cross-border, and central bank exposures.
- Propose classifications for governments and recommend triggers.
- Review and guide any sovereign/public sector analysis prepared by in-business risk teams.
- Conduct research and analysis on global macro conditions and sovereign credit assessments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the firm, both in business and risk departments.
- Support the development and maintenance of relevant models used by the Sovereign Analytics team.
- Assist in establishing frameworks and early-warning indicators for anticipating country crises.
- Train and develop less-experienced sovereign analysts.
- Represent Citi on critical regulatory matters as required.
**Qualifications:**
- At least 4 years of experience as a sovereign credit analyst/macroeconomist at top-tier financial institutions, central banks, rating agencies, or the IMF/World Bank.
- Experience in working with finance ministries and central banks.
- Proficient in developing frameworks for sovereign credit analysis.
- Familiarity with developing quantitative models for estimating sovereign default probability.
- Excellent communication and visual presentation skills.
- Highly motivated, team-oriented, and organized.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to drive to resolution with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to influence and lead people across cultures.
- Comfortable navigating complex, highly-matrixed organizations.
**Education:**
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in macroeconomics, international finance, or related disciplines.

**Salary Range:**
$119,260.00 - $178,890.00
