You will be a part of the Capital Markets FP&A team, supporting the Risk group of businesses. These businesses have a growing global presence, and you will collaborate with stakeholders from both revenue and expenditure fields.
Here are some of the key tasks you will be responsible for:
- Tracking revenue and expenses on a monthly basis, comparing actual figures to forecasts and making necessary adjustments.
- Communicating and presenting financial results and forecasts in a clear and understandable manner, including assumptions and dependencies.
- Reviewing revenue and expense forecast performance and expectations with business stakeholders, identifying risks, opportunities, and necessary actions to achieve annual targets.
- Performing technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance.
- Investigating existing expenditures to identify cost savings.
- Consistently reviewing existing processes to identify improvements and efficiencies.
- Gathering, analyzing, preparing, and summarizing recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts.
- Collaborating with department managers to establish timelines and methodologies for completing budgets.
- Conducting economic research and studies on areas such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.
- Preparing reports for management summarizing the results of research, analyses, and evaluation of any discrepancies.
- Researching, building, and collating financial information from various sources, including department leaders and other teams to ensure forecast accuracy.
- Working with stakeholders to resolve issues and improve cash collection within the business.
- Conducting financial analysis as required for various business projects and initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
- A good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, as well as company accounting policies, procedures, and standards.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to explain financial performance, indicators, and metrics to non-financial professionals.
- Strong data management and analytical skills, handling and interpreting large sets of data.
- The ability to recognize and initiate improvements to existing processes and workflows.
It would be nice to have experience as a heavy user of Power BI.
