ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Follow all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Perform duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to management.
- Act as a role model for Safety on the shift. Participate in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls;
enter Near Miss data and Observations into Global Data Center database (GDC)
- Accurately stage and return Raw Materials for Production using the correct scripts.
- Inventory Complete a skid of finished goods at the correct quantity.
- Remove finished goods from the line in a timely manner, and place on production wrapper with the correct label applied to the skid.
- Proper documenting and disposition of scrap.
- Able to accurately document all required end of shift paperwork.
- Possess great housekeeping skills.
- Perform put-away, and scan finished goods to the correct bin location.
- Clear the release areas, Stretch, and Custom, of all finished goods and maintain it.
- Able to stage LTL shipments with great picking and labeling accuracy.
- Able to stage full truck load shipments with great picking accuracy.
- Can load trucks accurately and securely to avoid in transit damage.
- Possess the knowledge of receiving, unloading, and put away of finished goods transfers.
- Knowledge of all DCLink scripts used within the department.
- Verify accuracy of shipping documentation for both carrier and customer
- Remove finished goods from the line in a timely manner, and place on production wrapper with the correct label applied to the skid.
- Able to accurately document all required end of shift paperwork.
- Perform cycle counting as assigned
- Perform consolidation efforts
- Validate pick pack and staged orders
- Ensure trailers are properly loaded with respect to stability and weight distribution of the finished product.
- Ensure trailers are braced when disconnected from tractor and placed in dock door.
- Perform daily inspections of transportation equipment
- Perform daily inspections of the yards
- Ability to support a 24 / 7 site; OT as required
- Possess the knowledge of receiving, unloading, and put away of finished goods transfers.
- Other tasks as assigned by Management, Supervisor or Lead
EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE :
- Possess a valid CDL or ability to obtain a CDL
- Ability to operate a fork lift
- Language skills : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, simple checklists, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and in small group situations.
Mathematical skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ration and percent.
Reasoning skills : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work around moving machinery or electricity requiring a high level of safety awareness.
Employee is required to work with various hand tools and must be able to wear appropriate PPE. Employee may be required to lift up to 65 pounds unassisted while performing job duties;
push or pull up to 100 pounds. Employee may reach, climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend or twist up to 66% of the work shift.
There are times that duties occur outside of the facility
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often subjected to changing priorities, time pressures and constraints, and a high level of job related stress.
Work is performed in manufacturing operations where the noise level in the work environment is typically loud. Employees are required to use hearing, eye and toe protection.
Other PPE may be required when working around moving machinery.
